At Havering we usually have someone from the Skills for Success team in the Library and Student Centre one day a week during term time. The Learning Developer in Academic Practice can help you with:
Feedback on Your Writing: Want to find out about your writing skills? Send them a page and they will provide constructive feedback on academic writing skills such as organization, grammar, and style. While they won’t proofread or edit your work, they will offer practical suggestions for improvement. They can also give you guidance on referencing (but cannot check all your references!).
Study Group Support: Collaborating with peers? Invite a member of our Academic Skills team to join your study group. Whether in person or via Microsoft Teams, they will assist you in achieving your study goals.
Workshops, Writing Cafes, 1-1's These are also run throughout the term. You will see them advertised on campus and online. The 1-1's you will need to book, you can do this via myAccount or emailing S4L@lsbu.ac.uk and specifying you are at the Havering campus with dates and times you are available. These can be conducted online via teams or on campus.
There is also additional support available for Maths and Statistics (helpful for drug calculations), and Information Skills support for evaluating journal articles and literature searching. Please see the Skills for Success link below for more information.
