On Monday 9th January, we implemented a new and improved library services platform.
This means the way you search for books, view online resources and use your online library account has changed. Keep reading to find out more about what this will mean for you and your studies.
You will probably know that previously you had to search for journal articles and books and e-books separately. This means you were using two different search boxes to manage your research.
With our new Discovery search you will see there is one search box where you are able to browse books, e-books, journal articles, digital media and more! We hope that this will make finding resources and conducting research a smoother process.
Take a look at the video below to learn more about how to use the new LSBU Discovery to explore library resources.
You now have access to a new online library account where after signing in, you'll be able to view items you currently have on loan and their due dates helping you to avoid fines. You are also now able to save resources and create favourites lists to help you better organise your research.
To sign in, click the Sign-in button in the top right-hand corner of the new catalogue search page. You will see two options.
Please select the LSBU Student & Staff Login then enter your username (everything before @lsbu.ac.uk) and password.
When browsing resources on our new library catalogue you will be able to export citations straight to RefWorks and Endnote Web. Use this feature to make referencing a more seamless process.
Your new reading list service is now live.
The new library platform is embedded in Moodle making it easier for you to access and use your reading list for your studies.
Click on the Sign-in button in the top right-hand corner of the new catalogue search page. Then select LSBU Student & Staff Login and enter your LSBU username (everything before @lsbu.ac.uk) and password when prompted. If you experience any issues logging in please get in touch.
