Interacting with other people can help learning to be deeper, quicker and more enjoyable. So, when it is difficult to get out and meet others, it makes sense to try and connect using technology.
It is very important that you find out the ways that your department provides for students to communicate, such as: email, online discussion forums, Moodle, live online video meetings, seminars, workshops or lectures.
Science shows that people can learn better with other people. When you are moving furniture, many hands make light work. In the same way, if you are trying to learn something new, it is easier if you interact with others. This is because you are not doing all the mental work yourself and so it becomes quicker and easier to generate ideas, test out your own ideas, get different perspectives, and learn from other people's knowledge and experience.

Not going in to University regularly can be isolating. It's good for your mental health and mood to have a chat with another person - it puts things into perspective. So, keep in touch!
Also, look on the positive side - for one thing, there are far fewer distractions now to prevent you getting on with studies!
