Password Security

Your Lambeth College password must be changed regularly to ensure that the College’s systems are secure and this will enforced every 180 days. IT Services may also ask you to change your password at other times, for example if your account has been compromised.

Please ensure that you access your email account regularly as this will help to ensure that passwords are updated when needed.

Passwords need to be complex, so follow all of the below principles.

  • At least ten alphanumeric characters long
  • Contain both upper- and lower-case characters e.g., a-z, A-Z
  • Have numbers and punctuation characters as well as letters e.g., 0-9,!'#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~
  • memorable for you, but difficult for someone to guess

Please do not use the pound (£) character as this is not compatible with the Moodle VLE.
