This Libguide provides access to subject resources for Mentoring and Practice Education in Health and Social Care. This includes our subscribed databases and web resources, where you can find information for your research and assignments. You will also find support and guidance to improve your skills in searching and referencing resources in your field.
There are many information resources you might find helpful, depending on your needs and what stage you are at with your learning or research.
Go to Referencing page for more information.
There are plenty of training and support opportunities in the library.
We offer drop-in sessions and practical workshops covering:
- Literature Searching
- Referencing
- Using Refworks
- Beginning your research
To sign up, go to our full event calendar on the Training and Support page.
In addition to the teaching we do as part of your degree programme and our open workshop training programme, we also offer 1-2-1 or small group appointments with our specialist Information and Academic Skills Librarians.
What are 1-2-1 appointments for?
They are a space to receive tailored advice and support that is specific to your assignment or topic area. The librarians can help you think about key words or concepts for searching, building a search strategy, using specific databases and referencing your sources.
How long is an appointment?
Appointments are limited to 25 minutes. To ensure equality of access to all users, please do not book multiple appointments on the same day.
How do I book?
Click the button to view our appointment calendars - we offer virtual/online appointments via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face appointments in our libraries (Southwark, Croydon, Havering).
