Self Learning and Training

LinkedIn Learning (used to be lynda.com) is an American website offering video courses taught by industry experts in software, creative, and business skills. It is a subsidiary of LinkedIn.

There is something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a complete training course or a quick answer on how to do something (for example, in Excel or on Twitter), there are over 4000 courses and over 150,000 tutorials with new releases every week.

As LinkedIn Learning is an online resource, it can be used via almost any device with internet access. Videos can also be downloaded for viewing offline at your convenience.

Text-books are very useful in learning new skills and processes. Books with the title of Study Skills, Literature Review and Evidence Based Practice can help developing information and research skills. Here is a couple of recommendations from your Librarian.

Please Sign in VLE (Moodle) and refresh this page to see the list of videos.

Book a 1-2-1 appointment with a Librarian

Get 1-2-1 help with your research!

In addition to the teaching we do as part of your degree programme and our open workshop training programme, we also offer 1-2-1 or small group appointments with our specialist Information and Academic Skills Librarians.

What are 1-2-1 appointments for?

They are a space to receive tailored advice and support that is specific to your assignment or topic area. The librarians can help you think about key words or concepts for searching, building a search strategy, using specific databases and referencing your sources.

How long is an appointment?

Appointments are limited to 25 minutes. To ensure equality of access to all users, please do not book multiple appointments on the same day.

How do I book?

Click the button to view our appointment calendars - we offer virtual/online appointments via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face appointments in our libraries (Southwark, Croydon, Havering).

Please click here if you need instructions on how to make an appointment using MyAccount
