The Academic Word List:

  • The Academic Word List (AWL) is a list of the core vocabulary used for writing at university in the UK. [Opens in new window]
  • You can also find the list here, UEFAP Selecting Vocabulary. Click "e.g." to see examples of sentences using the word. It also links to definitions and gives suggestions for smartphone apps for learning the list. [Opens in new window]
