Features of Level 6 writing:
- For Level 6 writing, focus on a few key issues so you can go into more Depth than at Level 5.
- Make sure you Analyse texts and put analysis into your writing.
- Try to find answers in the literature – e.g. Different definitions and interpretations of key concepts or issues.
- Put your Own interpretation on the literature.
- Your ideas and attitudes should always be Supported using evidence from the literature.
- You should show that you are aware of the Complexity of things. For example, use cautious language if you don’t know something for certain (such as “It appears to be…” rather than “it is…”).
- Your “Voice” (understanding) should be heard – trying to make sense of what you have read and comparing it with what you have experienced.
