Locating Useful Information Sources

When conducting a literature search or research for a project, your primary focus will likely be on sourcing articles from academic journals and books. Books like core text books and encyclopedias give access to good foundation knowledge on a particular topic, whereas scholarly journal articles give information on the latest research.

However, depending on the scope of your project or dissertation and the specific field of study, you may also want to explore additional resources such as conference papers, government publications, images, laws and statutes, newspaper articles, standards, statistics, theses, etc.

Please use your Subject Guide to search for these information sources via the Discovery Search Tool (Library Catalogue), journal databases and other specialist databases.
