Get Ahead Make a Flying Start banner

Hello and welcome to London South Bank University! We are so glad you are thinking of joining us to study in September.

The 'Get Ahead' programme is designed to introduce you to the information and skills that you will need to succeed when you start your course at LSBU. We'll also be signposting the support, services and people that will be available to help you throughout your university journey. The comprehensive programme will feature sessions from LSBU's Academic Skills Tutors, Digital Skills Trainers, Information Skills Librarians and Mental Health & Wellbeing Advisors.

We will be running 3 cohorts in 2022:A collage of photos of LSBU university buildings and students.

  • Tues-Thurs 28th-30th June
  • Mon-Fri 25th-29th July Evening sessions
  • Tues-Thurs 23rd-25th August

Come to as many or as few sessions as you like (you can mix and match across the 3 cohorts as well) - all will be delivered live but remotely using Microsoft Teams (see far right of this page for more details).

We'll be adding details of sessions and content to the workshop calendar below very soon and we look forward to meeting you then!

Join us on Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a video conferencing tool that allows people to meet online, wherever you are in the world. In the past year, we have used it to deliver a lot of teaching at LSBU!

If you have not used Teams before, check out the instruction documents below. If you are having trouble, please email askalibrarian@lsbu.ac.uk and let us know you are booked onto a Get Ahead session.

An LSBU student.
