Jingle Shelf’s Top 10 LSBU Library Hiding Spots Revealed!

by Tina Coulibaly on 2025-01-21T12:31:00+00:00 | 0 Comments

To celebrate the end of the semester, our mischievous little elf, Jingle Shelf, made his grand return to the LSBU campus! From December 2nd to December 13th, Jingle embarked on a fun adventure across our campus libraries. Despite his playful antics, Jingles cares deeply about our students and wanted to show you all that the library has to offer. Each day, we shared clues on Instagram about Jingle's secret location across our libraries. If you follow us on social media, you would have had the chance to track his movements, solve the riddles, and discover all student-facing services at LSBU libraries. Let’s look back at Jingle’s adventure!

Day 1 – Skills for Success

Jingle Shelf began his adventure at the Southwark Study Skills Hub, dropping in on a 1-2-1 librarian appointment online and a 6-week course in English Skills for Academic Writing. He tried to 'wing it' in an assignment but it didn’t fly, so he decided to hang out on a poster instead. A reminder that preparation is key to success!

Day 2 – Maths drop-ins

For his second stop, Jingle Shelf joined a Maths drop-in session and an online drug dosage calculation session for healthcare students. Eager to show off his maths skills, our little elf tried to solve a complex Maths problem but found himself more confused than ever! It seems even Jingle needs a little help when it comes to calculations!

Day 3 – Digital Skills drop-in and workshop

For his third stop, Jingle decided to join a digital skills drop-in session and a PowerPoint Poster Essentials workshop. Much like himself, he became distracted and posed for a photo with one of our friendly digital skills experts.

Day 4 – Croydon Campus help desk

For his fourth stop, Jingle sneaked into one of our study skills experts' bags and took a ride on the train to Croydon. Once there, he stretched out and cracked his back at the Chiropractic Centre. What a cheeky little elf!

Day 5 – The Academic Practice, English Language and Librarian

Jingle’s fifth stop was with the Academic Practice, English Language and Librarian team (APEL). Jingle initially thought that "APEL" was a festive fruit. He soon learned that it stood up for something more important! He was excited to learn about academic writing although his brain may have swirled a bit.

Day 6 – Student Life Hub

Day 9 – Skills for Success Information and Skills Librarians

Jingle returned to Croydon Campus on Day 9 to attend a drop-in session with one of our  Skills for Success librarians. He tried to "borrow" some ideas without citing them. Let’s just say the librarian wasn’t impressed!
