The Skills for Learning team

 

The Skills for Learning team run a range of online workshops available to all students at LSBU, including some targeted specifically at students writing a dissertation or extended project.

Workshop topics include:

  • essay planning
  • report writing
  • research proposals

Skills for Learning are here to support you in building your fundamental academic skills such as reading, academic writing and critical thinking. We can also help you to improve your grammar and presentation skills.

We have prepared a selection of materials that we encourage you to explore - they cover the essential skills you need to communicate clearly and effectively at university level. 


Academic Skills courses with Future Learn

Future Learn is a great online learning platform that you can access for free whilst at university and after you graduate. They host courses on a wide variety of topic areas, most of which have been designed and are delivered by specialist educators at universities around the world.

This course on Critical Thinking at University: An Introduction from the University of Leeds is available to join now and only provides 2 learning weeks of content.
