If you wish to access the 'Advanced Search' within Lexis+, you can do so by clicking 'Advanced Search' below the main search bar to the right of the screen (Figure 1).

This will take to you a page with additional functionality which will allow you to optimise your search further.

On this page you can read how to use 'connectors' and boolean operators such as 'AND' and 'OR' etc., or conduct searches for 'Exact Terms'.

If there are specific terms you wish to exclude from your search you can find that option here too. You also have the option to pick a specific content type for your search e.g. 'Forms & Precedents' and search within that content type alone (Figure 2).

It is also possible to perform advanced searches when clicking on specific 'Practice Areas' from the Lexis+ homepage. If, for example, you were to select the 'Employment' 'Practice Area', you can perform the same advanced search functions from this page, as well as drilling down even further by, for example, selecting a specific 'Resource Type', e.g. 'Cases', where you will find additional options to specify 'Case Name', 'Judge', 'Citation' etc. all within that specific 'Resource Type' and 'Practice Area' (Figure 3).
