Search History and Research Maps

Screenshot of 'History' pop up, displaying recent searches conducted and documents viewed.To locate your recent search history, you can click on 'History' from the homepage and a brief list of your recent searches and recent documents will be displayed (Figure 1).

From here, you can click on any of the searches listed to rerun them and get back to the results list.

You can also click on 'View all history' to browse further back into your search history or you can use the 'Research map' to visually guide you through the searches you've conducted and the documents you have viewed, even drilling down into the section or chapters of a document as you viewed them previously.

The 'Research Map' allows you to see a much fuller research journey, including the time and date of the search, the number of results retrieved by the search, the specific terms used in the search, which results you viewed from the search etc.

This allows you to trace exactly the steps you took to locate particular research in the form of a 'Search trail'.

You can also use the 'Research Map' to compare search results, create search 'Alerts' and save the search to a folder (Figure 2).
