LLR aims to support our researchers and academics in their work, as well as our students. This page contains details of what our teams offer and where you can find guidance and help.

We provide support and guidance for open research, including open access publications and research data management, as well as a wide range of training for both PGR students and academic staff. Click through the pages to find out how we can help.

  • Advice and training on writing Data Management Plans for grant applications and projects
  • Advice on managing, describing and sharing your data

Academic Liason and Teaching

Academic Liaison Librarians:

  • Attend course boards and staff meetings to pass on communications and collect feedback about LLR's services
  • Assist with research support and training for PGR students and academic staff
  • Oversee the purchasing and management of stock

Information Skills Librarians:

  • Provide embedded core skills training in Information Literacy to support academic achievement and lifelong learning
  • Provide supplementary training opportunities and support for students in the form of open workshops, assignment surgeries, 121 appointments etc.
  • Facilitate outreach programmes and events with the LSBU Group and other partners

Digital Skills Trainers:

  • Provide embedded core skills training in Digital Capability to support academic achievement and lifelong learning
  • Provide supplementary training opportunities and support for students in the form of open workshops, assignment surgeries, 121 appointments etc.
  • Facilitate the delivery of specialist training such as Microsoft Office Specialist and Adobe Professional

Skills for Learning Developers (term time only):

  • Provide supplementary training opportunities and support for students in the form of open workshops, assignment surgeries, 121 appointments etc.
