Library Services

Eligibility and Locations

We have 4 Assistive Technology Rooms in the Southwark Campus Library located in the LSBU Hub.  

There is also 1 Assistive Technology Room located at Croydon Campus Library.

Students registered with Disability and Dyslexia Support Team who have been given access as part of their adjustments, are eligible to book these rooms. Check your eligibility in MyAccount under the My Support tab. 

Please note: you can book a room up to a maximum of two hours each day of the week. Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance. 

Your ID card should give you access to the rooms. If there is a problem with your ID card, please visit the Library and Student IT Help Desk located on level 3 of LSBU Hub where help desk staff will check your DDS adjustments and give you access to the room if you are eligible. They will advise you on where to get your ID card access updated.

Assistive Technology Rooms are not group study rooms. They are for use only by the person named in the booking confirmation email and a registered support worker.

Your room booking may be cancelled if the room is being used for group study.

If you do not have the correct DDS adjustments in place, your assistive technology room booking will be cancelled.

Software and Facilities

All Assistive Technology Rooms at Southwark Campus Library have the following facilities:

-  Windows PC - Windows 10

- Height adjustable tables  

- ClaroRead Plus Literacy Support software   

-  Adjustable lighting

- Dragon Speech to Text software    

- Webcams & microphones

- Document holder

Scanners can be accessed from all printers

In addition to this:

ATR C – SuperNova Magnification and Screen Reading software

Ergonomic Chair

Assistive mouse and keyboard

ATR D – Jaws Magnification and Screen Reading Software

Please note:  Headphones with integrated microphones are provided in all Assistive Technology Rooms or you can bring your own if you prefer.
