LSBU Alumni Users


Can I still use the Library once my course finishes?

Former LSBU students and staff can get free access to the Libraries by joining LSBU Alumni.

There is also a paid membership (£25 per year) that allows Alumni to borrow up to five books at a time.

Due to the conditions of our licences we can't give Alumni access to all of our electronic resources and databases, but you can access many of them.

Printing for Alumni and visitors

Alumni and visitors to the Southwark Campus Library can print via the internet using WebPrint.

Guest printing cards with username and password are available from our help desk.

Visitor Membership


Members of the public can now purchase Visitor Membership at our main library on the Southwark campus. From late June 2022 visitor members will be able to access our new library in the LSBU Hub building. This will include access to our main University cafe when it opens later in the summer. 

Your membership will grant you reference only access to our study spaces and print collections. You can also access visitor wi-fi and our guest printing facilities.

Access to PCs and borrowing of items is not included.

Visitors from other Institutions

Members of the following institutions are eligible for reference access by showing their organisation's membership card.

  • Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE),
  • Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH)
  • Organisation of Tourism and Hospitality Management (OTHM)

Due to licensing restrictions on our electronic resources you will not be able to use our PCs. However, we have visitor Wi-Fi if you bring your own device.

Visitors from other Universities - SCONUL

Students from Universites that are members of the SCONUL access scheme can apply for access to the LSBU libraries.

Make your application using the SCONUL website - your application will go through to your own University library for approval.

Once your application is approved, bring your permission email to our library help desks, with your ID card from your University. We will take your photo for an LSBU ID card which will give you access to the Library on your future visits.

You can print and copy at our libraries with a Guest print account. You can also use the LSBU visitor Wi-Fi network. Ask at our help desk for further information.

Wi-Fi access for Alumni and Visitors

There are two Wi-Fi networks available to visitors to the Southwark Campus Library.

Eduroam 

If you are visiting from another institution which uses the Eduroam network, you can log on using your home institution's email address and password.

Connect to "LSBU Visitor" on your laptop or device and complete the registration form.

Please note that this will not give you access to LSBU Resources and other LSBU services.
